The majority of Zhou's wealth is derived from a 62% stake in Lens Technology, a Liuyang, China-based glass cover manufacturer. She owns the shares with her husband and through Hong Kong-based Lens Technology (HK) and Changsha, China-based Qunxing Investment, according to the company's 2022 third-quarter report. Zhou is credited all of these shares because she maintains strategic control over the company, according to company filings.
The value of her cash investments is based on an analysis of stock performance, dividend history, taxes and market performance.
A representative from Lens Technology's investor relations department declined to comment on the billionaire's net worth.
Zhou Qunfei was born in Xiangxiang, in China's Hunan province in 1970. She moved to Guangdong province to start working as a factory worker making glasses in 1987. She left to start her own company, the predecessor of Lens Technology, six years later.
Lens Technology supplies protective window glass covers for Apple and Samsung products, and began trading on the Growth Enterprise Market board in Shenzhen in March 2015.
She and her husband, Zheng Junlong, remain the company's majority shareholders and live in Hong Kong with their children.
