Our survey of 126 business schools around the world asked MBA grads to rate the power of their school’s alumni network, reputation, academic quality, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Stanford—Bloomberg Businessweek’s No. 1 business school—scored highest in four of the five questions.

The only school to outscore Stanford was Chicago’s Booth, on the quality of its academic program. That question scrambled the mix, with IESE Business School, Northwestern’s Kellogg, Darden at University of Virginia, and Michigan’s Ross rounding out the top five and Stanford dropping to No. 9. Among the surprises: Imperial College of London reached the top tier in two of the questions, as did Babson’s Olin school.

These results are the third in our series of quarterly updates using data from Bloomberg Businessweek Best B-Schools surveys. The surveys are the foundation of our annual full-time MBA rankings.

Below are highlights from our survey of 15,050 MBA alumni. For scoring, we normalized using all surveyed schools, and displayed the 30 schools that scored best.

Not that they’re rivals or anything, but Palo Alto, Calif.’s most famous B-School beat out Cambridge, Mass.’s most famous. A close No. 3 was Babson, also in Massachusetts, which has always focused intensely on entrepreneurship.
