Brazil’s currency climbed for the first time in three days as foreign-exchange inflows offset anti-government protests abroad that are sinking demand for emerging-market assets.

The real appreciated 0.1 percent to 2.3937 per U.S. dollar today in Sao Paulo. Swap rates on contracts maturing in January 2015 climbed one basis point, or 0.01 percentage point, to 11.13 percent after closing yesterday at the lowest since Jan. 22.
