An organization charged with protecting oil ports in eastern Libya said it will impound a tanker if it sails into the country’s third-biggest crude loading terminal.
The Trident Hope, able to collect about 80,000 metric tons of crude, is signaling it will arrive at the port of Ras Lanuf on Thursday, according to a transmission from the vessel Wednesday. Shipments from the terminal are blocked under a so-called force majeure and attempting to load would result in the carrier being impounded, Ali al-Hasy, a spokesman for the Petroleum Facilities Guard, said by phone from the port.
