Bank of England policy maker Silvana Tenreyro said that the coronavirus pandemic may prove to be detrimental to many women’s careers and pay.
“The crisis has been a huge shock for women in particular who have taken a little more of the domestic burden,” she said in a webinar with students at Warwick University. “I hope that this will not have a longer term impact on their pay. But I do worry that this is a setback for the women who have been progressing in their careers.”
