The Best Golf Gear to Improve Your Game, From Head to Toe

The Rapsodo launch monitor in action.

Golf has always been a numbers game, but now we want more of them. Here are a few tools I’ve tried this year that give you what you need most, whether it’s a break for your back, a shock to the wrist, a clear view for your eyes or simply a boost in your step.

DeWiz golf swing modifier
If you’ve ever wondered what a dog feels when it runs through an invisible fence, try on the deWiz golf swing modifier. The watchlike device gives insight into all the usual data (swing speed, club path), but it also uses “learning stimuli”—a fancy way of saying it shocks you. Pick an aspect of your swing you want to fix, and, with the contraption on your wrist, you’ll create a benchmark of your current swing and select parameters to improve. When you fall outside of them, the B.F. Skinner-approved device gives you a zap. And it will hurt. And you won’t do that again, now will you? $699
