A ransomware attack that targeted a Swiss government software provider was due to errors made by police and custom offices, as well as by the provider itself, according to two official reports on the incident published on Wednesday.

Attackers stole data from Xplain and blackmailed the company, posting sensitive information including the addresses of cabinet members on the dark web last year.
