“The Trump Administration is the first administration in my lifetime that has been willing to do something about this broken free trade system,” UAW President Shawn Fain said in a livestreamed address to union members Thursday evening. Fain, a prominent Trump critic on the campaign trail last year, told members the union was “very appreciative” of Trump’s auto tariffs, saying they could help swiftly reshore a slew of jobs.
