Somalia to Register Voters Ahead of Local Elections, Sonna Says

Somalia will start registering voters this week for local elections scheduled for June, state media Sonna reported, citing the head of the electoral agency Abdikarin Ahmed Hassan.

It’ll be the first one-person, one-vote election in almost 60 years for the Horn of Africa nation that has since relied on indirect elections.
