Thiam Steps Down as Leader of Ivory Coast Opposition Party

Tidjane Thiam, the former chief executive officer of Credit Suisse Group AG, quit as head of Ivory Coast’s main opposition party after his leadership was challenged in court.

Ernest N’koumo Mobio, a vice president of the party, will take over as acting leader of the Democratic Party of Ivory Coast, the organization said in a statement dated May 11. Thiam will serve as deputy chairman to assist the interim leader, it said in a separate statement on Monday.
