Spain’s Premier Sees No Sign of Illegal Financing in the Party

Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said he sees no evidence of illegal financing within the Socialist Party as a corruption scandal that forced the resignation of a top aide continues to roil his government.

“The external audit of our accounts has been approved today. It clearly says that the state of the Socialist party’s accounts is clear, real and trustworthy,” Sanchez said during a press conference at the party’s headquarters. “In the police report there is no ramification or signaling of irregular financing of the Socialist party.”
