One Dead in Fire at Iran’s Largest Oil Refinery, Fars Says

One person died in a fire that broke out Saturday at the Abadan oil refinery in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan Province, the semi-official Fars News Agency said.

The fire, which was fully extinguished about two hours after it began, was caused by a pump leak in one of the refinery’s processing units, Fars said, adding that there were no signs of sabotage or human error. Production was unaffected, according toBloomberg Terminal the Oil Ministry’s Shana news agency.
