Iran Names Ali Larijani as New Head of Supreme Security Council

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed a veteran politician and former nuclear negotiator to lead the country’s Supreme National Security Council, the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Ali Larijani, a pragmatic conservative with a long career in Iranian politics, will replace Ali Akbar Ahmadian as secretary of the SNSC.
