Bank of Ghana Governor Johnson Asiama urged the nation’s banks to increase private-sector lending to support economic growth.

“Our monetary-policy stance has begun to shift toward supporting growth,” Asiama said at a meeting Wednesday with bank chiefs in Accra, the capital. “It is critical the banks align by stimulating credit to the private sector, particularly the productive areas of the economy.”
