Photographer: Kent Nishimura/BloombergDonald Trump isn’t letting up on his quest to remake global trade in America’s favor. The US president said he’d impose increased tariffs on countries buying energy from Russia while clarifying that levies on semiconductor and pharmaceutical imports would be announced “within the next week or so.”
The ramp up is happening just days after Trump re-set his tariff plan with rates on imports from trade partners ranging from 10% to 41%. And it’s occurring even as the latest economic data suggests the US economy is grappling with the fallout.
