00:00How would you characterize current performance in China? Listen, we've seen very tough months in December for reasons that have been already commented a lot, and most of our people were actually Sikh and we couldn't even open our our stores. And likewise, we've seen a drop in traffic, which was really two very, very low level in the month of December. From this low amount of business, we have recovered very significantly in the month of January. Obviously, it's only three weeks and it's hard to make a trend of three weeks. But we can be really optimistic that the Chinese that China has actually turned the page of the disruption of the pandemic and we can look forward to the business was quite some optimism. How quickly do you think China can get back to 2019 levels? NASDAQ. Well, China is already way above 20 year 2019. We've benefited from Robert's creation of the touristic business that we used to do with mainlanders outside China into an in 2020, 2021 in 2022. So the level of business we already do in China is way above what we used to do prior to. It was a pandemic. The question is more, are the disruptions that we have seen in the business, in the mainland business in 2022, which seems to be over its peak, too early to say. But it seems to be going much better.

LVMH CFO: Optimistic About China Amid January Recovery

LVMH says its performance in China has “recovered very significantly” in January. “It’s hard to make a trend of three weeks,” CFO Jean-Jacques Guiony said on "Bloomberg Markets: Europe" Friday. “But we can be really optimistic” that “China has actually turned the page on the disruption of the pandemic.” Guiony spoke after the company posted slower sales growth in the fourth quarter due to the Covid flare-up in Asia’s largest economy.
